Welcome to the crossroad where “clean beauty trends” and “what I personally am crushing on HARD” collide. AKA? The New Knew’s Quarterly Faves.
This post is partially sponsored by EVOLVh and Bubble & Bee, two ethical beauty companies utilizing unique, better-beauty formulas to create efficacious products. As always, TNK only works with brands who we trust are making the world a better place.
By: Lisa Fennessy
Quarterly faves are updated each season, along with my big “Best of” post at the end of the year. I thought “Quarterly Faves” would be a nice way to highlight some exceptional products throughout the year.
Be sure to come back each quarter for a refresh on what’s hot + TNK exclusives.
Clean Beauty Trends + TNK’s Faves
Instead of drawing up weekly or even monthly recs, I like to use products for an extended amount of time and let the dust settle before leaning into the hype. I know you come here for the best of the best so that’s what you get. Here’s what we’ve been loving lately.
EVOLVh SuperFinish Polishing Balm | $32
I’m constantly trying new hair products, but there’s one that reigns supreme and has been in my lineup for years now. That’s right. I’m talking about EVOLVh’s SuperFinish Polishing Balm. So many TNK readers have tried this and loved it, but if you don’t know, this is a gel-serum you apply to your hair before drying or air drying and it basically does it all. Like, protects against heat and UV, smooths, adds shine, detangles, defrizzes, hydrates and helps to prevent breakage.
I first fell in love with this product because of all the added hair bennies, but then I fell in love with it all over again because it’s weightless and doesn’t weigh my hair down AT ALL. Oh, and it leaves my hair feeling so smooth too. A+++.

Saalt Leakproof Comfort Thong Period Undies | $29
Somewhere in my 40s I realized that wearing period underwear on the daily is really the way to go. Between the accidental peeing myself, ovulation, after sex and spotting, it’s like, “Will I ever be dry and comfortable down there?” Well, with period undies you will.
Period underwear may sound like a disgusting concept, but that’s just the fear talking. One try and you will be hooked. They come in light (1-2 regular tampons worth), regular (2-3 regular tampons worth) and heavy (3-4 regular tampons worth) absorbencies.
I’ve tried a smattering of period undies and the Saalt Leakproof Comfort Thong is my go-to. If you didn’t tell me this was period underwear, I would have no idea. It’s thin, comfortable and truly keeps me dry. I mean, it’s really one of those products that’s changed my life.
Ethically made and sustainably sourced.
Bubble & Bee Organic Soapnuts | $9.99
Have you heard of soap nuts?! If you haven’t, get ready to be mind blown. Soap nuts are a dried berry of the soap nut tree. They contain natural compounds called saponins that clean and lather up naturally, which means you can use them to clean your laundry, hair, jewelry, etc.
I love this option so much, especially for people with chemical sensitivities, because this is literally a ONE INGREDIENT detergent. To wash laundry, put 4-5 soap nuts in a muslin bag and wash clothes per usual. You can even create a soap nut concentrate and use it for a variety of things like dog shampoo, all purpose cleaner, dishwasher soap and more.
Have you tried this?

LILYSILK One-Size-Fits-Most Classic Wireless Silk Bra | $39
It’s not often that you come across a bra that’s a game changer. If you are looking for a seamless look that prioritizes comfort over support, this one will blow your mind.
I’ve been so obsessed with this everyday wear-sports bra crossover since the day it arrived—I literally don’t wear anything else. It’s wireless, made from a silk (95%) / spandex (5%) blend, slightly padded, light, breathable and seamless. I can’t say enough good things.
I especially love the full back for a seamless look with t-shirts and anything borderline see-through. For example, I have an eyelet shirt that I’ve been wearing this season and normally I would have to wear a cami under it to keep it classy, but with this bra it’s a wrap!
👉HIGHLY RECOMMEND.👈

Iris & Romeo The Reset | $45
Holy shamolie. Haven’t had a mist knock me off my feet in a while and this one did it. Iris & Romeo calls this a 3-in-1 hybrid mist / serum that delivers instant results (and it does!) Check it out:
- This is a mist and a serum in one
- Can be used as a makeup primer
- Or as a layer under your moisturizer
- Or as a glow boost on bare skin
- Has 4 molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to help hydrate
- Clinically proven to increase cell hydration by 85% (you can feel this!)
- Packed with ceramides to strengthen moisture barrier and plump
- And niacinamides to calm, reduce redness, smooth texture and minimize pores
- Plus antioxidants to protect
✨Basically your two-second hack for glowing and dewy skin.✨
P.S. This mist is so hardy, I find it works best when I spray it on and then pat it into the skin.
P.S.S. Kicking myself for not responding to their DM two years ago because we could of all had this in our lives a lot sooner! Sorry, friends!
Honest Beauty Extreme Volume Mascara + Bold Lash Primer | $19.99
I saw Honest came out with a new mascara so of course I clicked *add to cart* with the quickness. Don’t get this confused with their original mascara (Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer), which I have been recommending for years as my top budget pick. This new release comes with a primer and a mascara (same as the original). But this primer is a bright, neon blue, which Honest says creates a bolder, blacker lash. This wasn’t the standout for me as, let’s be honest, black is black when it comes to mascara. But what did stand out was the volume. The combo of the primer and the chunky wand deliver big volume and I love it.
The only downside is with that chunky volume, it’s hard to layer. Once the first coat dries, you are not going to get a smooth second coat. It’s like raking dried ground. And it did flake a little on me. But overall worth a try if you want dramatic lashes for less.
TooD Turn It On Soap Brows | $24
Never heard of “soap brows” until I tried this product from TooD. Have you? According to Eyebrow Queen, “Soap brows is a term used to describe a brow styling technique where the brows are brushed up into a fluffy look and set in place using a traditional soap bar, which acts as the holding product.”
This product comes in a tin and looks like a bar of soap. To use it, you wet a TooDBrush (or I suspect you could use a toothbrush) and brush your brows upwards. This creates a fuller look and also holds them in place too.
All I’m going to say about this is two things: 1) THIS WORKS and 2) my brows have never looked bigger, fuller or more boy-brow-ish in my entire life. I’m sold (and Nicolle is too).
Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Liposomal | $27.99
I’m not a huge supplements person, BUT Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Liposomal is the shiz. You get 1,000 mg of vitamin C and 100 mg of bee propolis in a .27 fl oz pouch. You want this because…
PROPOLIS: Is made by bees, used as the defender of the hive and is well known for its antimicrobial properties. It also supports your immune system with antioxidants, zinc, iron, B vitamins and over 300 other beneficial compounds.
VITAMIN C: Is a natural immune system booster and is known to support muscle recovery and healthy collagen levels for glowing skin. Love that this little pouch delivers 1,111% of what’s recommended daily.
LIPOSOMAL: This is not a vitamin, but a delivery system. A liposomal delivery system is when the active ingredients are inside very tiny, fat-like particles. This is beneficial because it’s easier for the body to absorb, has fewer side effects and works better than other delivery systems.
Third-party tested, ethically sourced, stellar ingredients. Also it tastes really good so…more please!
Om’s 4-in-1 Lather Bar | $29
Okay, I really didn’t want to try this product. The minute I saw the words “bar” and “shampoo” and “conditioner” all in the same sentence, I knew it wasn’t for me.
BUT I WAS WRONG.
This bar is marketed as a 4-in-1 and here’s what that actually looks like:
- Shampoo – This foams up extremely well, which was a surprise to me (even better on the second pass). It cleans hair well, leaving it light and bouncy.
- Condition – You don’t also use this again as a conditioner since it would foam up again, but with conditioning agents like chia seed oil and coconut extract, hair is left lightly conditioned. (Like, it feels soft and I could brush through it with relative ease.)
- Wash – You can also use this on your entire body as a wash and believe me, you want to because it leaves skin feeling conditioned and it smells like a coconut dream come true. I love this scent.
- Shave – Also great for shaving and helps the razor glide smoothly over skin.
Honestly? I’m so obsessed with this bar. (Who am I?!) I also love it for my kids and it’s ESPECIALLY perfect for travel.

Caraway fry pan | $95
Regardless of if you are trying to live your best nontoxic life or not, you need to try this fry pan. It’s honestly better than any brand I’ve tried (conventional or better-for-you). Here’s what stands out to me:
- It’s truly nonstick. For example, I can cook eggs and they slip-slide around in the pan.
- Super easy to clean. Most of the time I can just take a towel and swipe the pan clean.
- It’s nontoxic.
Unlike most nonstick pans, which are made with polytetrafluoroethylene (like Teflon®) and forever chemicals (like PFAS), Caraway explains, “Our cookware is made with an aluminum core and [has] stainless steel bases and handles. The interior is made with a non-stick coating free of lead, cadmium, PTFE, PFOA and other harmful chemicals. The non-stick is a sol-gel processed fine ceramic coating material formed from a low curing temperature.”
Also, it’s really cute. Read my full review here.

April 30, 2021I get to purchase really good skin care twice a year based on my budget and I’ve used two bottles of the maya chia super couple last year and beginning of this year, Love it but I was wondering if you could share with me two of the greatest serum and moisturizer as I have ran out and need something. I love your recommendations and realize as a blogger you try quite a lot of products, I appreciate all your recommendations especially the blue schampo I get from you! Thanks in advance.

May 9, 2022Lisa, another deodorant that I think is amazing is Simply Divine Botanicals, Keeping Abreast of It Deodorant Spray. It is formulated with mineral salts and essential oils that stimulate lymphatic drainage. It has a light herbal scent that is pleasant and not overpowering and it keeps the stench away all day!

On another note… have you used fifty7kind products any further? I had read your review on the serum and was very curious about that line, but other than the company’s product page I haven’t been able to find any other independent reviews or information online.
Thanks!
