You know when you’re describing someone to a friend and you’re running around in a compliment circle and then you go, “They just GET IT.” (??). Well, sub “someone” for Activist Skincare and “friend” for blog post and that’s me all day long. Why?

For more information on the 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways, read my intro blog!

Activist Skincare doesn’t stop at creating “nontoxic skincare.” They look at every aspect of their business as an opportunity to create change. From the ingredients they use and their packaging to their business model, they are sending a message. Here’s some things I personally value about Activist Skincare. They…

👊Source ingredients ethically

👊Prioritize sustainability

👊Formulate with integrity (no cheap fillers)

👊Offer refills and refill packaging

👊Committed to using results-driven ingredients

One thing that specifically stands out to me is that Activist doesn’t just offer refills to check the sustainability box. They offer refills and then reward shoppers with a lower price tag when shoppers choose their refill option. This type of business ethos doesn’t just sit on the surface. It’s actively creating change in how we consume and use and buy.

But choosing the refill option doesn’t just save shoppers money. It also reduces carbon dioxide emissions from shipping by 99%. AND their refill pouches allow non-recyclable pumps, lids, droppers and sprayers to be reused indefinitely, reducing plastic waste by 75% on average in just one refill.

Our Activist Skincare Top Picks

One lucky winner will be invited to customize and take home their own Activist Skincare routine, so we feel it’s only right to share our personal faves to help you decide.

Lisa’s Top Pick

Skin type: normal to dry, hyperpigmentation, congestion

Their Precious Oils Active Infusion is hands down my top pick. It has a touch of cucumber extract in it, which smells very calming and feels spa-esque to me. But beyond the scent, I love the combination of tamanu oil (mad antioxidants), pomegranate oil (promotes the reversal of skin damage), astaxanthin (king of all antioxidants), chamomile extract (to minimize hyperpigmentation) and coenzyme Q10 (to stimulate healing) all in a base of grapeseed, avocado, and macadamia oils which help to balance skin. My skin feels moisturized and silky when I use this oil!

Nicolle’s Top Pick

Skin type: sensitive, reactive, dehydrated, prone to irritation

This time of year, my skin always needs MORE COWBELL, aka, hydration. And my sensitive, reactive complexion is not usually amenable to too many ingredients. The Active Hydration Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum has helped to curtail those winter-time issues for me. It’s super liquid-y, almost like you’re applying liquid aloe to your face, so I do like to mix it with an oil (Lisa’s pick would be GREAT) for heft, but then it applies like a dream, and gives my skin a long, tall drink of water in the form of hyaluronic acid and saccharide isomerate. Panthenol softens and soothes irritation and inflammation, while sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C) brightens some of my blemish scars. Win-win.

Kristy’s Top Pick

Skin type: sensitive, combination, reactive, occasional breakouts

The Activist’s Sea to Skin Cleansing Gel is my top pick. It leaves my skin feeling clean AND soft and supple, rather than dry and tight. Plus, it has a soothing light scent. I love it so much that I bought their Travel & Trial kit just so that I could have a smaller size of it. This is one of those products that I wouldn’t dream of traveling without as it calms and balances my skin beautifully. (Plus, did you see the color of it?!)
