Welcome to the crossroad where “clean beauty trends” and “what I personally am crushing on HARD” collide. AKA? TNK’s Quarterly Faves.
We publish our quarterly faves at the end of March, June and September along with our big “Best of” post at the end of the year. “Quarterly Faves” is a nice way to highlight some exceptional products along the way.
Be sure to come back each quarter for a refresh on what’s hot + TNK exclusives.

Summer clean beauty trends
Here’s what we’ve been loving lately—call it the dish on our latest beauty crushes. Have you tried any of these?
Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer | $349
You know I’m 100% into haircare and the best way to take care of my gray strands so I was wicked excited to try the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer that uses LIGHT instead of HEAT to get the job done.
How??? Zuvi uses patented LightCare™ technology to dry the surface of your hair, protecting hair moisture within the hair shaft. Zuvi claims that by using their dryer, hair:
- Has +109% more internal moisture
- Is +38% shinier
- Is +17% smoother
- Has +57% longer color retention
I tried it and am here to report, the Zuvi Halo is a great option for those with sensitive scalps or who prefer cooler temperatures. At a lower temperature of 111℉/44℃ the Zuvi feels almost cool on the scalp and didn’t irritate my skin at all. It’s also super lightweight and easy to hold.
It comes with three attachments in the box: a diffuser, a styling concentrator and a gentle air attachment. Unlike conventional hairdryers, you dry your hair without the attachments and then use the attachments at the end as a finishing touch to smooth / style.
The final verdict? Although this might not be a great fit for all hair types (i.e. thick hair, hair that retains a ton of water or hair that needs attachment attention the whole time), this IS a great tool for people with thin hair or aging hair or people with sensitive scalps.
This is new technology so we wanted to mention that the light system is safe for your skin and eyes. (Zuvi Halo has passed several safety certifications such as CCC, CE, GS and ETL.)

Three Ships Brighter Days Red Algae + Avocado Biodegradable Eye Masks | $32
So excited about this trend. Over the past few months we’ve seen biodegradable eye masks launched by both three ships and by Clean Circle. I’ve been obsessed with eye masks forever because they boost the eye area reducing puffiness and under eye circles almost instantly—but hate all the packaging and one-time-usage-ness.
The other huge benefit is you get a ton. Typically these types of masks are sold individually ($7 each!) or in packs (5 for $30) but here we are served up a stack of 30 for $32 which is just about $1 each!
Made possible by Red Algae Extract, a potent antioxidant and hydrating ingredient that allows the masks to adhere to your skin and break down when you’re done using them. We found the breakdown process a little cumbersome but trust that the small leftover bits being washed down the drain will break down on their own.
File this find under “a girl’s best friend”.
Dry Farm Wines Rosé Subscription | $103/month
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with Dry Farm Wines. They’re actually the largest buyer and reseller of natural wines worldwide. They go the extra mile to source, taste, and lab test organic, natural, and biodynamic wines from all over the globe. THEN deliver it to your door monthly (or every other month). You can choose from rosé (my summer go-to), red, white or a mix. It’s like a monthly nontoxic beauty box, sub wine!
They made my quarterly faves because they also offer a rosé subscription which is just perf for summer. Even better? With Dry Farm Wines, there’s no added sugar or additives, so you can enjoy your glass without the guilt.
I’ve been enjoying Dry Farm Wines for over two years now, here’s how it changed my daily! Want to dive in? Here’s how to get an extra bottle for a penny!
Live Botanical’s Solar Return Revitalizing Essence | $64
I can’t even believe I’m about to say this but I forgot to put sunscreen on my face one day at the beach last week. And I was there ALL DAY! I’m so mad but I’m sure I’m not the only one. I got way too much sun which will take some TLC to condition now…and reverse the effects of over time.
One tool I’m glad I have in my skincare toolbelt for this is Live Botanical’s Solar Return Revitalizing Essence. This herbal serum works to firm, brighten and soothe sun-loved complexions.
At the heart of this formula is a hydro-distillation of fresh Calendula, Chamomile, and Lemon balm to recover from oxidative damage while hosting a plethora of botanical extracts and peptides like…
- Moth Bean to help with cell turnover and prevent future sun damage.
- Niacinamide to boost moisture retention and support collagen production.
- It also has a Peptide Complex of Pea and Quinoa proteins, which in clinical testing showed surface-level discoloration started to improve within 14 days.
- Beta-glucan and Snow Mushroom to deeply hydrating, soothing, and strengthening the skin’s natural barrier.
- Glycosphingolipids to maintain moisture, protect and add life to photo-aged skin.
- And so much more.
Love. Love. Love.

Laurel Sun Body Oil | $90
If you’ve been hanging around TNK for any period of time, you know I’m in love with Laurel. Biodynamic, impeccably sourced, plant-powered, this line is skincare at its finest. Laurel is the definition of slow beauty.
Based out of Sausalito, California, founder Laurel works side by side with local artisan farmers to procure over 150 plants each season.
Sun Body Oil is a go-to this time of year. It’s a body serum and moisturizer packed with nutrients and antioxidants to be used before and after sun exposure. Every single ingredient chosen for this blend has been clinically studied or used historically for its ability to assist in preventing UV induced oxidative damage or their ability to repair damage after too much sun exposure.
Smells amazing, Soaks right in. Keeps skin moisturized. Feels so good.

Salty Face Tanning Water | $44
Fake tans are notoriously risky business. I always feel all confident going in with my prepped and exfoliated skin. I apply exactly per the instructions and head to bed expecting to wake up a glowing goddess. Reality sets in when I’m met with orangey streaks and splotches. And if the application happens to be on my face I’m stuck for at least a couple days regretting my decision. (You know how it goes).
I’m not sure how Salty Face achieved the seemingly impossible, but no matter how hard I try (or don’t try) I can’t seem to mess up the application with their tanning water. This lightweight formula literally feels like water and easily blends—I use a kabuki brush to blend into my face after applying with my fingers (the kabuki brush is genius and KEY for a flawless application). The tan develops gradually and is super realistic, zero orange, no streaks. Consider me a lifetime devotee. More on how to shop for the healthiest *fake tannahs* here.

Stateside Stripe Poplin Oversized Shirt in Denim | $228 $114
Currently channeling Diane Keaton’s coastal grandma chic ala’ Nancy Meyers’ Something’s Gotta Give (lol, anyone?). Oversized button downs are the workhorse of 2023’s official summer uniform and I’m here for it. Tuck it, tie it, throw it over a tank and shorts, wear it as a beach cover up, drape it over a LBD—there is nowhere this puppy can’t go.
Stateside’s iteration of this classic wardrobe staple was inspired by poplin from 15th century France (sniff, sniff) and gives that perfect crisp look while still being insanely soft. I will be living in mine from now until forever (because this one will last that long).

OURSIDE Eau de Parfum Nostalgia | $79
I’m a huge fan (HUGE) of musky, bold, big, Drakkar Noir adjacent fragrances. And this one sends me back. #childofthe90s #nostalgia.
New to Credo, OURSIDE meet’s Credo’s definition of “clean” and is formulated without formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates, synthetic, dyes, sulfates, propylene glycol, mineral oil, nitromusks and animal-derived ingredients.
I’m awful at scent descriptions but OURSIDE describes this scent as:
Top: mint, grapefruit, jasmine, violet leaf, mimosa
Middle: vanilla, ylang ylang, cedar
Bottom: peru balsam, amber, patchouli
Pretend you didn’t see patchouli because it’s not going to hit you like that. What I smell is bold, confident, sexy, don’t-question-me vibes and I’m here for it.
Pro tip: Opt for the roller ball. It will last longer than you think.

Oway Hmelt Mask | $42
Back to my hair journey. I’m nothing without a purple hair product and now that I have gray hair, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs looks like breathing, food, water, shelter…purple shampoo. (To all my gray-haired ladies, youknowwhati’msayin’???).
Loving this purple hair mask by Oway. After I shampoo, I leave this in for however long I feel like it and not only does it keep my grays bright and brilliant, it also works to protect and moisturize.
But what I love the most is that my hair feels so soft and sleek after drying it. Every. Single. Time.

Brooklinen Organic Hardcore Sheet Bundle in Percale | $332 (the bundle +10% off savings price)
I wanted to call this sheet set out because I tried it recently and was super impressed. Here’s why.
- This set comes with the typical fitted and flat sheets but then it also comes with FOUR pillowcase covers AND a duvet cover. My bed went from drab to fab in two seconds and I didn’t even have to buy any “extras”.
- This set is made with GOTS-certified organic cotton and is OEKO-TEX® certified for chemical safety.
- It’s percale fabric which is by far the MOST COMFORTABLE sheet fabric in my opinion. Breathable, crisp, lightweight, cool and relaxed. (Unlike the most uncomfortable sheet fabrics i.e. silk, jersey, flannel, sateen….#ewdavid!).
I’ve tried so many sheet sets from blogging over the years and take it from me, this one impresses.

June 29, 2021Would it be possible to do an article about the best “drug store” or inexpensive organic options? I’m just starting my organic adventure and I can’t picture shelling out $75 to $150 for one item in my skincare routine when I don’t know if I’ll have a reaction or not. I’m turning 40 soon and am looking for anti-aging as well. Thank You!
