Welcome to Day 3 of The New Knewโs 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways! So excited to reveal that one lucky winner is about to take home the cutest, most timeless and classic shoes from beek! A $500 value!
By: Lisa Fennessy
Is it just me? Maybe itโs because I live in Hotlanta where we only wear cute boots like 2 months out of the year. Or maybe itโs because the trends are always changing. Or maybe itโs because I have huge dogs and no cute shoes fit me. But itโs that time of year again. You know, the one where you look in your closet and think, โWhy donโt I have any cute winter boots or shoes?!โ
Well today we are going to fix that!
For more information on the 12 Days of Holiday Giveaways, read my intro blog!
This past summer I got introduced to beek and I never looked back. Their shoes are super cute, timeless and go with anything. The type of shoe you will have for years and will never fail you during โthat time of yearโ because they never go out of style.
So who is beek you ask?
beek is a super cute handcrafted footwear brand headquartered out of California and handcrafted in Mexico.
Their mission is to create footwear that is both beautiful AND comfortable. Footwear you can live-in, and love-in, and that gets better with age.
Hereโs the 411 on all their goodness:
All leather is recyclable and a byproduct of cattle and sheep raised for meat.
All-leather footwear is made with only vegetable-tanned leathers from tanneries gold-certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG)โ the most sustainable method available.
All of their packaging and box materials are recycled (except for the wax coating on the lining and tissue).
Carbon footprint is smaller as they are not shipping or sending from overseas.
The working conditions in their factories are well on their way to achieving Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certificationโtheyโre already 75% there and looking to be 100% by 2024.
Each pair takes over 48 hours to make.
But what really stood out to me is their giving program. For every pair of beek shoes sold, they donate the equivalent of five meals, for a child in need, through the Childhood Hunger Strategy with the Second Harvest Food Bank.
(According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 15.9 million children under 18 in the United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life).
beeks IRL
Iโve been lucky enough to try several pairs of beeks over the past few months. Here are some of my faves. (P.S. Available in sizes up to 12!)
Quail Leather Ankle Boot in black (size 11)
These are gorgeous and super versatile. They are great for everyday wear with jeans or a long skirt, or even look cute with tights and a short skirt or shorts too.
Puffin Leather Booties in saddle (size 11)
Is it a boot, is it a shoe? We donโt know but the Puffin goes with practically anything and it toes that elusive line of โjust threw this on but also look super put togetherโ.
Flufftail Shearling Mule in bronze / black (size 11)
The best thing I did this fall was get these shoes. Yes they are shoes! Iโve warn these with ANYTHING and EVERYTHING from a boxy blazer and fitted jeans to a swap for my flip flops on the tennis courts. You could also just keep them as indoor only shoes too. Iโm 100% obsessed.
Finch Leather Toe Ring Sandal in black (size 11)
Love these especially for my wide foot. Super cute and Iโve worn these with anything from cut off shorts to tailored dresses. These have nailed that โgoes with anythingโ feel.
Gallito Leather Slide Sandal in honey (size 11)
Got these in the color honey although it was really hard to pick, I mean, hot pink (?!), bright green (?!) โ I want them all! The perfect casual sandal that again, goes with anything!
