I Tried Perelel Vitamins, Here’s My Honest Review

March 19, 2024 — Written by

Prevention and early detection are everything when it comes to health so this year I’m making my doctor appointments and taking my vitamins a priority. The bad news is the world of vitamins is like the wild wild west. The good news is we found a trusted and supportive vitamin brand to get us there. Say hello to Perelel, the first and only OB/GYN-founded women’s vitamin brand that offers targeted nutrition for your exact life stage. Here’s the scoop on how their customized ritual (plus a cutie pill box) leveled up my vitamin routine.

This post is sponsored by Perelel, OB/GYN-founded vitamins and supplements for women that support each life stage. As always, The New Knew only works with brands who we trust are making the world a better place.

IN THIS POST:

I know I’m not alone when I say I put myself last. But it really hit me the day I realized my son turned 10 and I haven’t been to the GYN since his birth. #oops

I mean, this is a poor excuse but no one was telling me to go, so I didn’t. Also, shocker, taking time out of my day to go to a medical appointment is just plain ughhhhhhhhhhhh.

Anyway, a close, close girlfriend called me and told me she had tested positive for precancerous cells in her uterus. It was serious enough that her best path forward was a full hysterectomy. And the only reason they caught it is because she went to the GYN for her routine pap.

That punched me in the gut.

I KNOW prevention and early detection are everything yet, I was 100% slacking on my end.

So in 2024 I am making my doctor appointments and taking my vitamins a priority. I am 45. Here’s what that looks like for me:

  1. A GYN appointment
  2. A mammogram
  3. A colonoscopy (I don’t want to do it, but I will).
  4. A blood draw
  5. An eye appointment
  6. A skin check
  7. A teeth cleaning

And as far as the vitamins go, I am SO BAD AT THIS! I have good intentions but I just forget and the next thing you know it’s 4pm and I wash all my failure down with a room temp glass of red zin.

But that changed this year with the addition of one major purchase: The cutest pill box ever! Wow. Pill boxes really work. Who knew?! I haven’t skipped a day since. You can also try apps or engaging the Medications portion of the iPhone health suite (which Nicolle swears by). It’s set up to continue to ping you until you take your meds/vits.

Then the only thing missing after that is vitamins to put in your cute pill box!

I know the world of vitamins is basically the wild wild west meets X the panic vibe of a Supermarket Sweep episode. We all want a supportive vitamin routine but we don’t know where to go or who to trust.

Perelel Daily Probiotic in someone's hands.

Meet Perelel

That’s where Perelel comes in! Perelel is the first and only OB/GYN-founded women’s vitamin brand. All products are formulated by the Perelel Panel composed of the nation’s leading multidisciplinary eastern and western doctors, practitioners, and experts in women’s health.

Love this but what specifically caught my eye about Perelel is:

✓ Doctor-founded

✓ Has clinically-tested doses

✓ Every ingredient is backed by research

✓ High-quality ingredients in absorbable, bioavailable formats

✓ Gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO

✓ No synthetic colorants or additives

But it gets even better. Perelel is the vitamin that changes with you throughout each life stage: from everyday life to trying to conceive, into pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood and beyond. Each vitamin pack offers targeted nutrition for your exact stage.

Why? Frustrated with the lack of regulation in the vitamin world, the disregard for bioavailability and quality ingredients, Perelel founders Alex Taylor, Victoria Thain Gioia, and Dr. Banafsheh Bayati MD, FACOG were on a mission to set a new standard for women’s vitamins—customized to all stages of life.

They explain, “We took the idea to leading OB/GYNS, maternal-fetal medicine doctors, naturopaths, and more—and they liked it so much, they signed on as co-founders. Now, every one of our formulations is informed by the most up-to-date clinical research and decades of holistic medical expertise. Women’s bodies are complex—your vitamins should be, too.”

I’ve already had my babies and been through postpartum so I would say my current stage is “everyday life” or maybe “pre-menopause”…not totally sure yet. But I took their online quiz to help me figure it out and it calculated a best-fit routine just for me. This includes:

  1. Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio
  2. Synbiotic Greens Powder
  3. Daily Probiotic

Personally, I appreciate how simple and easy this routine is and I love that it seems to cover all the basics from organic greens to a recommended 10 billion CFU probiotic to B vitamins, vitamin D, magnesium, omegas and even biotin and collagen peptides!

If you are also in this “I-might-be-premenopausal-but-I’m-not-sure” (like me), Dr. Bayati (Perelel co-founder) confirms the Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio will cover both everyday life and premenopausal stages.

I tried Perelel’s Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio

The Perelel Women’s Daily Vitamin Trio is exactly what it sounds like. It’s 3 pills in a pack. So everyday you open a pack and take your three vitamins for that day. The first thing that struck me about this is it’s so much more comprehensive than taking one multivitamin!

This pack is designed to support your general and reproductive health, your mood and stress levels, and your hair, skin, and nails. Included is:

  1. A Women’s Daily Multivitamin which is a blend of vitamins and minerals to provide full-spectrum nutrition, immune support and address any nutrition gaps.
  2. An Omega Capsule with sustainably sourced, wild-caught fish oil with DHA + EPA which are essential support for brain health, stress, and mood.
  3. A Beauty Blend Capsule with biotin and bovine collagen peptides to support hair, skin, and nails.

I love that this pack basically covers all the bases, the pills are easy to swallow (no horse pills!) and there is no gross aftertaste.

Specifically, I love the addition of all the minerals (copper, magnesium, zinc…) because I was buying all of these and taking them separately during the summer tennis season. It’s so hot in Atlanta in the summer and I sweat so much that I feel like I have to pound minerals to keep my body in check.

I also love that it has 250% of the daily recommendation for vitamin D. I’m not a doc but I’ve heard from several that most people are deficient in vitamin D which is critical to mood and more. I specifically got my vitamin D tested last month and *drum roll please* I WASN’T deficient, which is a shocker and also a testament.

Also, I have the weakest nails on the planet and I don’t take a regular collagen supplement so I was excited to see one included here because now I don’t even have to think about it.

Pros:

  • Made & Founded by Doctors
  • Research-Backed
  • 3rd Party Tested
  • High-Quality Ingredients
  • No-Nausea Formulation
  • Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy Free, Non-GMO
  • No Colorants or Synthetic Fillers
  • Made in the USA

Cons:

  • The packaging (each day is wrapped in its own pack which creates more waste than necessary, but they do have a recycling program).

What a disappointment! Menopause is not covered. How can a women-oriented company ignore menopause?! Talk about ageism. I’m not dead yet.

Thanks for this – I chatted with Perelel and they are actually working on a perimenopause + menopause product, which is launching later this fall. For now though, the brand recommends the Trio for menopause since it does cover baseline needs. Perelel’s co-founder, Dr. Bayati is perimenopausal and takes trio.

So intrigued!! How would you say this compares to Ritual? And what about Seed probiotic? I started both of those based on your rec and would love to hear what you think about this one in comparison.

Hi Beth! Totally! All have responsible / good ingredients. Ritual is a multi vitamin and Seed is a probiotic. I like both. The thing that stood out most to me about Perelel is that it’s 3 pills daily (in a pack). So it really covers so much more than any multi vitamin would cover and I like that! What’s not included in the Perelel trio is a probiotic so you would need to add that on if you want one. Does this help? P.S. I know we usually chat on IG, love seeing you over here on the blog! xx
